I'm exhausted. You know the feeling after a rush of adrenaline wears off? That's happened to me three times so far today.
Hurricane Alex is slamming the Mexico coast and will continue to head inward over the next few hours. While I feel awful for the people down there, here in the "Coastal Bend" (i.e. just inland of Corpus Christi) we're getting slammed with the righ-quadrant storm bands of this hurricane. That means lots of rain and possible tornadoes.
The weekend has been pretty nice so far. I haven't uploaded any pics yet though. Why? Because in just a few hours I am having my first ever meeting with another blogger! Consider it a warm up to the Texas Blog Party. Heehee.
So, it's Sunday. I haven't linked up with my pal Keely's meme in a while so, I figured I'd do it today. If you don't know Keely at MannLand5 or her Sunday meme Getting to Know You, um, what are you waiting for....go check her out, yo! Wait! Finish reading my blog and then... Continue reading ...
For the last two weeks, I've been doing some painting. I painted one of the bathrooms, walls and cabinets. Then I started painting the kitchen cabinets. I got almost done in the kitchen when, two nights ago, 0007 made us both realize that....I didn't prime them!
Fanfreakintastic.
I was bummed, to say the least. Two weeks and a gallon of paint down the crapper. I'm not so much upset that I have to paint again. I love paint... Continue reading ...
UPDATE: The technical difficulties have been resolved and the coupon code at the bottom of this post is now working! Sorry about that! Now, get to shopping!
A fashionista, I am not. I try but, I'm generally confined to my nice little comfortable box. Lately, I'm trying really hard to incorporate at least some items in my wardrobe that make me feel like I'm a little more fashion conscious.
So, I'm window shopping online the other day (one of my favorite pastimes) and I came across a site I had ... Continue reading ...

titled: What Is That Smell? or My Son is a Nutso or A Glimpse at the Ridiculously Unglamorous Side of My Life
As a parent, one can often find oneself saying things and/or doing things that you would never have fathomed you'd ever do or say. It's impossible to grasp the severity of how gross things can get or how unbelievably insane a child can be at times.
It's not always a smooth ride, this parenting stuff.
Hola! It's Friday...again. Time for the Fridayinest meme in the blogosphere! Head over to Mama M's and succumb to the peer pressure. You know you wanna. Go ahead. Do it!
I used to think there was such a thing as the "perfect mom" or "perfect housewife" or the "perfect relationship". I had friends that I was convinced were just that.
Then I got to know them better and realized that those things really do not exist.
That mom I thought was perfect has plenty of meltdowns and had a biter for almost 2 years when her son was small.
The couple I thought was perfect, split up because of cheating.
The woman I thought kept the perfect house confessed she had a maid... Continue reading ...

Our weekend started with a visit from my nephew. My brother and sister-in-law went to see Iron Maiden on Friday night and we got to keep this super cutie...
The cutie went home and we all donned our swimsuits and headed to a birthday pool party. 0007's cousin's son turned one and the party was a blast.
TRex is really becoming quite the little fish.
It's a hard job to kick back by the pool but, somebody's gotta do it.
So, there was a thread started over in the BlogFrog community that I obsessively post in frequent getting us to post some pics of ourselves from a long time ago. Love the idea and the pics being posted are awesomely hilarious. Who doesn't love a good horrendous pic from decades ago?!
I was having such fun that I figured I'd share a few with y'all.
I don't have a scanner so, these look a little weird because I just took a picture of the picture.
Check out SupahMommy for more PINT and other cool schtuff.
Almost don't even wanna say that I'm glad it's over. It might still be lurking and waiting for me to let my guard down.
They obviously put out a mass douchebag call for this round of contestants. One should match up nicely with Ali's shallowness and annoyingly inappropriate laughter.
True story.
For realz. I'm getting damn excited about this. I'm stoked for the peeps who have put a firm yes down for the RSVP, hopeful for the maybe's and l... Continue reading ...
Disclaimer: I kinda just realized how long winded I was in this episode of 5QF Vlogginess. Um, my bad! Though, it does make it more like you are actually hangin' with me. I'm fairly long winded. So, booyah.
Music has had such a profound influence in my life. I love how I can hear a song and be transported to another time, be flooded with memories, almost be able to make out the smells of the memories. For someone with a memory as bad as mine, music that can trigger those things are pure gold. I'd love to sit down one day and make out a "Soundtrack of My Life". What fun that would be but, oh what an undertaking.
And so, because I like to reminisce, talk about music and challenge others....

Sister to TRex. Snappy is our 3 year old, baby toting, crayon loving, song singing, cuteness connoisseur, giggling, stubborn little Princess. She is both a Daddy's Girl and a Mommy's Girl. And she's figuring out how to twist TRex around her finger.
