A Whole New Kind of Monday

Well, my TRex is at school.
*tear*
He started kindergarten today.
*sniff sniff*
I thought I was prepared.
*sob*
I really didn't think I was going to cry. I thought he was ready. He's been saying he's excited but, when he got up this morning it was a different story. He was tearing up all morning. It's really hard for us all. He's been very clingy for the last three years.
When he was about 2 1/2 I was working at a daycare. His class had just come in from the playground. I heard a girl from the infant room yell down the hall that a child was left outside and she thought it was TRex. I ran out there and it was him. Banging on the door and screaming and crying.
Easily one of the worst days of my motherhood.
I was pissed. Told everyone off and left for the day.
At the time, we figured he was fine. That he'd get over it.
In hindsight, and in thinking about it recently, it was actually a pivotal turning point for him. Before that he was totally chill and independent. After that, high strung, nervous and clingy. Snappy was born a couple of months after that and I attributed TRex's behavior to that but, now I am pretty sure the daycare instance really changed him.
So, it's hard for him to be away from us. And, we haven't pushed to change that.
Today was hard for him and for us. But, I'm hoping it will really be good for us all. He's so smart and he's going to have so much fun. I'm hoping this is another huge turning point for him and that this time it's for the better.
But, I was still ugly crying earlier.
*deep breath*
Phew.
But, he looked damn good heading to school this morning.

I've never been a fan of techno or all that hardcore screaming heavy metal.

Well, a couple of months ago I probably would have said Whatchamacallit. Now, thanks to my friends SIF and Shannon, I'm definitely going to say Crunchies! If you don't know what they are, oh boy are you missing out! Get thee to a World Market stat!
- How "flawed" is your driving record?
Eh. I've got a few speeding tickets throughout the years but, no hit and runs or anything.
- What was your high school mascot?
"Weeeee are the fighting Stingarees!" (It was the stingray.)
- What color socks are you wearing?
Socks? In Texas in the summer time? Surely you jest. It's flip flops all the way, baby.
