GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED
Going green is a growing sentiment these days. As moms, it's more than greening the future for our children. It's also about greening their now and giving them a healthier environment. I know I'm not the only mom out there to worry about the cleaning products that I use. Of course I have concern for their effects on the earth but, first and foremost, it's a concern of their effects on my household and my children.Seventh Generation is a company that cares about our earth, our environment, our homes and our children. Their cleaning products, that range from baby wipes to all purpose cleaners and everything in between, are safe for every member of the family, the air and surfaces in your home and still manage to be incredibly effective. The Seventh Generation products that I've used are absolutely amazing. I'll be perfectly honest. I was wary of how effective a cleaning product could be if it wasn't the chemicals that I've always used. How clean can it get? I'll tell you that after the first time I used cleaning products from Seventh Generation, I knew I'd never use anything else again. The Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner is a dream everywhere in my house. It cleans my kitchen counters as well as it cleans the tables in the kids' rooms and I know it's safe to use in both of those places, as well as high chairs, toys, doorknobs and anywhere else I need to clean. The entire Disinfecting line from Seventh Generation kills over 99.99% of household germs, specifically: Influenza A, H1N1, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella enterica, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli on hard, nonporous surfaces. While it's ridding your home of those germs, it's keeping your family and the environment safe and filling your home with the most pleasant non-chemical smell. The Lemongrass & Thyme scent is refreshing and just gives my home such a yummy, clean scent that actually lasts for hours. I adore these products and am looking forward to switching over to all of the Seventh Generation cleaning products.Yes, switching to Seventh Generation products, like their 100% recycled paper towels that I absolutely love or their Natural Powdered Laundry Detergent that I can't wait to try, is a huge step in the "green" direction. There are tons of other things that we can do in our own homes to continue taking those steps towards a greener planet and greener home. The Conscious Kitchen by Alexandra Zissu is an amazing book that can help you to create a greener kitchen and a greener lifestyle for you and your family. Alexandra's book shows us "what’s good for personal health, what’s good for the planet, and what tastes great." It's full of wonderful tips and Alexendra is an amazing source of knowledge when it comes to a greener home.I was recently lucky enough to be able to ask Alexandra Zissu a few questions about being green around the home.If there was one green thing that you wish everyone would do in their homes, what would it be?
Oh I have so many wishes! But the first step to doing anything green is thinking green. So I’d like everyone to sit down and really think about why and how to go green, and about how it would make the most sense for them to go about doing it. It’s a bit like a New Year’s resolution – you can’t do all at once or you won’t stick to it. And we really all need to be sticking to at least some level of green for our safety, our neighbor’s safety, and the health of our shared earth. Once you shift your mindset and decide you’re going to think green, you’re off and running – switching cleaning products and light bulbs, buying local food, filtering your tap water. Before you know it you’ll be bringing your compost in reusable organic cotton sacks to the nursery school vegetable patch you helped set up as a community awareness outreach effort! Ok maybe not instantly but you get the point. For the entire interview (and extra entry possibilities) click HERE.We all want to do our part, not only in making the earth a better place but, in ensuring that the environment our children and our loved ones are living in is the best possible place and the healthiest it can be. Seventh Generation products are definitely living up to their promise to make our earth a better place.Buy it!You can purchase Seventh Generation products from their website or search their site for a store near you that carries them. THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSEDI remember getting an email forward years ago that talked about the disgusting stuff on the bottom of a woman's purse. I cringed as I read it. Unlike all the other forwards I get day in and day out, that one always stuck with me. Like most women, I've put my purse on countless floors. I had never given it a second thought until I got that email. After that, every time I ate out, my purse got it's own chair or hung on the back of mine. Sure, I felt that perhaps the bottom was cleaner but, am always a little paranoid hanging my purse on the back of my chair. There is a solution. Purse hangers are designed to hang on the edge of a table while your purse hangs from the hook. They are a genius invention and the best I've seen come from Joey Junior. I actually bought a purse hanger about a year ago. It's sharp and always snags on things in my purse. I love it's function but, hate it's form. The Joey Junior purse hangers are something I love all the way around. Not only are the hooks on the Joey Junior purse hangers not sharp but, the entire thing folds down into a convenient flat size that easily slides into the smallest pockets in your purse. Aside from the convenience, Joey Junior purse hangers are gorgeous. They come in several different colors and boast an elegant faceted crystal decoration in the center of each hanger. Joey Junior Purse Hangers are perfect gifts for every single woman you know. They hold up to 17 lbs but, weigh less than 2 ounces. Each hanger has a non-slip pad that helps keep it in place on your table. I've also used the Joey Junior in public restrooms that didn't have door hooks. Worked like a charm! The nastiness on the bottom of our purses is something every woman should be aware of. You can click HERE to see an ABC story about the dangers of the germs we pick up with our purses. The Joey Junior helps to stylishly solve the problem of germy purses while keeping your purse in plain sight and not hanging on the back of your chair. Buy it!Head over to Joey Junior to purchase one of their perfect Purse Hangers for yourself or as an amazing gift for someone else. Great for Mother's Day! GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSEDYou all know that I'm nutso about shoes. If you didn't know that already, let me tell ya, I'm nutso about shoes. As much as I adore a new pair of shoes for myself, nothing makes me quite as giddy as an adorable pair of shoes for my kids. My daughter sports her precious See Kai Run shoes all the time and she looks way too cute in them. When she got them, I lamented over the fact that my son was too big for See Kai Run. Then I found out that there's an answer to this dilemma. See Kai Run's sister site, Eleven. Where See Kai Run leaves off, big sis Eleven picks up. The shoes from Eleven are just as stylish, just as comfortable, just as adorable. Eleven sent us a pair of shoes from their new Spring/Summer line that my son just flipped over. The Nolan shoes in brown are absolutely perfect for my little man. They are incredibly comfortable for him to run, jump and play in while being stylish enough to wear with his nicer clothing. My favorite part about these shoes is that the laces are actually elastic and at the top of them is a velcro strap. My son can put these shoes on all by himself and they stay on his feet. Love it!Eleven has a ginormous collection of other amazing shoes to choose from for boys and girls from 3-8 years old. The summer sandal choices for little girls are so cute I can't stand it! The boy sandals are just as cute and look as wonderfully comfortable as the rest of the shoes in the Eleven collection. Be sure to check out the Sale section and pick up some boots for next season! All of the shoes from Eleven feature flexible soles, premium leather, cushioned insoles, padded collars, all leather uppers and durable soles making them an excellent choice for your busy and fashionable kids!Buy it!Head over to Eleven and check out the new arrivals.Win it!One lucky reader will win their choice of shoe from Eleven! GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED I've been flat ironing my hair for a very long time. I'm aware of the damage it does to my hair but, honestly, I don't have much of a choice. I love my hair straight and, up until now, it's been my only option. I remember in the days before I had flat irons I would spend hours on end blow drying my hair in an attempt to get it straight. If only I'd had hairfree brushes back then!hairfree brushes are pretty darn amazing. What started as an idea to create a brush that would be incredibly easy to clean turned into a line of brushes that utilize ceramic technology to help women create the sleek look of using a flat iron without the damaging effects of using a flat iron. hairfree brushes are both functional and versatile. You can use hairfree brushes as regular styling brushes or as vent brushes. The ceramic coated plates of the hairfree brushes heat up to give you the sleekness and shine of a flat iron but, don't burn or damage your hair the way that flat irons do. I really like how soft my hair feels when I use the hairfree brushes. I also really love to use the hairfree flat brush as my normal styling hair brush. My favorite part about hairfree brushes is the easy cleaning. I really hate to clean my hair brushes. I mean, really hate it. With hairfree brushes, the cleaning part is so super easy. You simply push the slide on the brush and the ceramic plates come up and push all the hair out. No more pulling hair out of your brushes! The best part? The price. For a miniscule piece of what a flat iron would cost you, you can get both the round and the flat hairfree brushes!
hairfree brushes were recently included in the gift bag events at the Sundance Film Festival, Miss America Beauty Pageant, The Bachelor's Wedding and The Oscars! Buy it!Head over to HERE to get a super hot special still in effect from the holiday season!! Win it!One lucky reader will win the set of round and flat brushes from hairfree!US onlyends 4/5To Enter: Visit hairfree and tell me something you learned *required (Use entry form below)Extra Entries:-Publicly follow the Lolidots blog in the google friend connect-Comment on a non-giveaway post-Visit any of the sponsors on the sidebars of this page and tell me something you love from their site (can do this as many times as you like)-Follow Lolidots on Twitter-TweetWin hairfree brushes @lolidots http://lolidots.com/giveaways10 entries- Purchase hairfree products during this giveaway
