In our house, rock and roll is king. Our kids come by it honestly. My husband and I are both rock and rollers and the kids have boogied right along behind us. I don't want to deny my children "Kids' Music" but, some of it is just painful. Lately, we've totally been rockin' together to the perfect mix of kid-friendly lyrics and music reminiscent of some of the best rock and roll bands out there.
Even the newest album name from rockers StarFish gives a pleasant nod to rock and roll. Enter Sandbox's lyrics may be talking about stuff kids can laugh and relate to but, their music makes me think of bands like Aerosmith, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Grateful Dead, Metallica and others. This is THE CD for rocker kids and parents alike.
Education is important when trying to reach a young audience. StarFish knows this and it makes me a goofy kind of happy that they are educating kids on how to rock and how to be a concert goer. At their concerts, they teach the audience how to cheer when they hear their hometown (an important rule of concerts), how to join the mosh pit and play air guitar (an important lesson for any rocker) and give the kids the number one rule: There are no rules. It's hilarious and I'm now dying to take my kiddos to one of StarFish's concerts. I know it would be a rockin' time for all of us.
